Classic India - 11 Days

Tour the Old and New Delhi City, exploring Delhi’s large red sandstone mosques on the Yamuna River. Pay respects at Raj Ghat, site of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation. Walk through the ‘India Gate’, a stone arch built in the memory of Indian soldiers that fought and died in World War II.

Explore Agra, the city of love. The enormous Agra Fort with elegant internally constructed buildings that truly reflects a combination of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. No visit to Agra is complete without a breathtaking tour of the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, an amazing mausoleum built on the River Yamuna that majestically captures the different tones and colors of the changing day. A sight to behold and an icon of India.

En-route to Bharatpur, visit the famous ‘Ghost City’ - Fatehpur Sikri built in red sandstone in honor of Saint Salim Chisti who foretold the birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar. This structure is a world heritage site, a complex of monuments and temples that includes one of the largest mosques in India.

In Bharatpur visit the Ghana National Park, a Bharatpur bird sanctuary with approximately 300 Local birds and in some cases, migrated species.

Experience Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and also known as the pink city. Where Agra is a city associated with love, Jaipur is associated with culture, tradition and crafts. Take an elephant ride to the impressive Amber fort which encloses superb palaces and a beautiful temple of marble dedicated to the fearsome Goddess Kali. Barter at renowned markets for fine jewelry, handicrafts, clothes and the famous lakh bangles. Visit the remarkable ‘City Palace’, still home to the Maharaja and the ‘Wind Palace’, a look out from where the queen would view the activities of the large bazaars.

Visit Jodhpur, known as ‘Sun City’ and considered to be the real India. View the locals making mud pottery.

Explore Udaipur known as the ‘Venice of the East’ and considered by many to be the most romantic of all the Rajasthan cities and one of the most exotic places in Asia. Enjoy the magnificent lake fringed by hills, embankments, bathing ghats, shrines and palaces. Visit Sahelion Ki Bari, the beautiful ‘Garden for Royal Ladies’.

Explore Mumbai with a sightseeing tour of the Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai’s open air laundry), the Gandhi Museum, Jain Temple, Prince of Wales Museum, the ‘Gateway of India’ and the Mohd Hazi Ali Mosque (built in the middle of the sea).

Day 1
Delhi

Welcome to India.
Transfer from the airport to your hotel. Afternoon guided tour of Delhi. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2
Delhi (B, L, D)

Enjoy another sightseeing tour of Delhi. Explore the skyscraper Qutab Minar-Built in 1191 AD, Humayun tomb, the India gate, Raj ghat and the Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidential building). Overnight in Delhi.

Day 3
Delhi, Agra (City of Love) (B, L, D)

Drive down to Agra with an enroute visit to the Fatehpur Sikri. After arriving in Agra, you will enjoy one of the new seven wonders of the world, with an amazing visit of the Taj Mahal.

After lunch, explore Agra fort. Evening drive down to Bharatpur. Check-in at the lodge.

Day 4
Bharatpur, Jaipur (B, L, D)

After breakfast, experience a game viewing at the Ghana national park. Drive to Jaipur. Check in at the hotel.

Day 5
Jaipur (Capital of Rajasthan) (B, L, D)

Morning visit to the Amber Fort enjoying an Elephant ride to the gates. After lunch explore Jaipur with a city tour including the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the Wind Palace( Hawa Mahal). Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 6
Jaipur, Jodhpur (B, L, D)

Morning flight from Jaipur to Jodhpur. Arrival at Jodhpur. After breakfast proceed for a city tour to the Mehrangarh fort, Jaswant thada, Umaid bhavan palace, and the Mandore Gardens. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 7
Jodhpur, Udaipur (B, L, D)

After breakfast stroll down to the clock tower and explore the bustling market place. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Evening depart for Udaipur. Overnight stay at Udaipur.

Day 8
Udaipur (Venice of the East) (B, L, D)

City tour of Udaipur visiting the City Palace Museum made of granite and marble with filigree balconies, ornate windows and stunning glass craftsmanship.

Visit the Jagdish Temple, which is dedicated to God Vishnu, then enjoy a scenic drive around Fatehsagar Lake, considered the fairytale lake of Udaipur,. Rest of the day is free. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9
Udaipur, Mumbai(B, L, D)

After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour of Udaipur City including the Garden of the Maids of Honor and the folk art museum.

Depart Udaipur for Mumbai on an evening flight. On arrival in Mumbai, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 10
Mumbai (B, L, D)

After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Gandhi Museum, the Dhobi Ghat, Mumbai's open-air laundry, Jain Temple and the Hanging Gardens. Evening in Mumbai. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 11
Mumbai (B)

After breakfast enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of the Prince of Wales Museum, the Gateway of India, Mohd. Ali Mosque (In the middle of the sea) & Juhu Beach.

Transfer by air-conditioned private transport to the International Airport for your flight home.

Price of domestic flights from Jaipur to Jodhpur and Udaipur to Mumbai is subject to change.

Travel as light as possible. Clothing and laundry are both quite inexpensive.

Women should dress conservatively. Avoid tank tops or short skirts/shorts. The best outfit, especially during the hot summers, is a T-shirt worn with loose cotton trousers. If you are adventurous, wear the Indian 'salwar-kameez', it is very comfortable.

Do not forget to remove your footwear when visiting a place of worship or mausoleum.

Drink only bottled water. Beef is not served in India. Pork is also not easily available. Vegetarian food is easily available, cheap, and of excellent quality.
