Arriving at the airport, you will be met by your guide. At about 4:30 PM, we'll travel as a group from the airport a few hours through the mountainous Costa Rican countryside to the beautiful town of La Fortuna. Please see the important arrival information below

This evening you will have a chance to get to know your Group Trip Leader and your fellow members who you will be traveling with. Today most will be strangers, but by the end they will feel like friends for life!

IMPORTANT ARRIVAL NOTES:
- INCLUDED: - The included group transfer from San Jose airport to La Fortuna departs at about 4:30pm on day 1. Your flight must arrive in San Jose before 4:00 PM on Day 1 (May 15th). If not, please plan to arrive the day before... we can arrange an extra night hotel for you (available for purchase during your trip purchase check-out).
- FLIGHT DELAYS: - If your flight is delayed past 4:00 PM on day 1, a private transfer will need to be arranged at a cost of $120 (so best to arrive early or the day before)
- EARLY TRANSFERS:- If your flight arrives early (or you arrive the day before the trip starts) and you'd like to get to La Fortuna earlier to get more out of your vacation, we can arrange a private transfer for you from the airport to La Fortuna for just $60. Just let us know and we'd be happy to arrange it.

Day 2
La Fortuna (B, L)

Getting an early start, we will head out into the jungle for the ultimate waterfall adventure – we'll strap on a harness and with the help of our guides we will trek through a beautiful jungle canyon and rappel down multiple tropical waterfalls, including two measuring nearly 200 feet high! After the thrill of the descent, we will enjoy a well-deserved typical Costa Rican lunch.

In the afternoon, we're off on an included group twilight nature hike with a local naturalist near the base of Central America's most active volcano: Arenal Volcano. Following our hike we will drive to a viewing spot where, if nature cooperates, we will be able to witness blazing red, car size chunks of lava roll down the side of the steep volcano slopes in the dark of night. The evening brings the much anticipated chance to soak in the Baldi Natural hot springs and recover from the day's adventures.

Day 3
La Fortuna (B, D)

Today is a free day to spend as you like. Roam the quaint streets and shops of La Fortuna or continue your adventures with an optional horseback ride, ATV tour or Whitewater Rafting.

On the ATV tour, you will join the group on a beautiful ride through a Costa Rican farm, witnessing some of the country's most beautiful scenery and possibly even visiting a waterfall or two.

The Whitewater Rafting tour is located in the beautiful rolling hills about an hour from La Fortuna. Here you'll ride down the Class 3-4 Rio Toro and feel the exhilaration of over 45 crazy, continuous rapids in this secluded, picturesque canyon.

On the horseback ride, you'll enjoy a scenic guided ride through the Costa Rican countryside. Riding these beautiful horses will give you the opportunity to see nature and the true beauty of Costa Rica up close. This is a great chance to see the volcano in the distance and to spot toucans, monkeys and many other unique animals along the way. You'll even get a chance to do some trotting with the horses if you like.

Regardless of how you spend your free day, join your fellow club members for another fun night out for dinner and drinks in the town of La Fortuna.

Day 4
La Fortuna (B)

Morning is our chance to play "Indiana Jones meets Tarzan" by flying through the jungle treetops on an exhilarating canopy zipline course. In the afternoon we travel to Alajuela in the capital city of San Jose where we'll enjoy one last night of fun with our new found friends before catching our flights home the following morning.

Day 5
Alajuela/San Jose & Airport Transfer (B)

Trip ends after breakfast. If you purchased airport transfers through us, then you're transferred to the airport to catch your flight home.
