Tour the Old and New Delhi City, exploring Delhi’s large red sandstone mosques on the Yamuna River. Pay respects at Raj Ghat, site of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation. Walk through the ‘India Gate’, a stone arch built in the memory of Indian soldiers that fought and died in World War II.

Explore Agra, the city of love. The enormous Agra Fort with elegant internally constructed buildings that truly reflects a combination of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. No visit to Agra is complete without a breathtaking tour of the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, an amazing mausoleum built on the River Yamuna that majestically captures the different tones and colors of the changing day. A sight to behold and an icon of India.

En-route to Bharatpur, visit the famous ‘Ghost City’ - Fatehpur Sikri built in red sandstone in honor of Saint Salim Chisti who foretold the birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar. This structure is a world heritage site, a complex of monuments and temples that includes one of the largest mosques in India.

In Bharatpur visit the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a Bharatpur bird sanctuary with approximately 300 Local birds and in some cases, migrated species. Sit back and enjoy a ‘cycle rickshaw ride’ through the jungle to watch the various species of birds.

Transfer to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and also known as the pink city. Where Agra is a city associated with love, Jaipur is associated with culture, tradition and crafts. Take an elephant ride to the impressive Amber fort which encloses superb palaces and a beautiful temple of marble dedicated to the fearsome Goddess Kali. Visit Jal Mahal, the ‘Lake Palace’, which is situated in the midst of the Man Sagar Lake. Barter at Jaipur’s renowned markets for fine jewelry, handicrafts, clothes and the famous lakh bangles. Visit the remarkable ‘City Palace’, still home to the Maharaja and the ‘Wind Palace’, a look out from where the queen would view the activities of the large bazaars.

Visit Jodhpur, known as ‘Sun City’ and considered to be the real India. Drive by Jeep through these villages built with pure mud and observe the locals demonstrating the art of mud pottery.

Explore Udaipur known as the ‘City of Sunrise’ and considered by many to be the most romantic of all the Rajasthan cities and one of the most exotic places in Asia. Enjoy a boat ride on the beautiful and solitary lake of magnificence - Lake Pichola is fringed by hills, embankments, bathing ghats, shrines and palaces. Visit Sahelion Ki Bari, the beautiful ‘Garden for Royal Ladies’. Relax by Lake Fateh Sagar with its beautiful Nehru Island, an islet bearing a solar observatory that rises interestingly from the lake.

Explore Mumbai with a sightseeing tour of the Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai’s open air laundry), the Gandhi Museum, Jain Temple, Prince of Wales Museum, the ‘Gateway of India’ and the Mohd Hazi Ali Mosque (built in the middle of the sea).

Day 1
Delhi

Welcome to India.
Traditional garland and welcome drink on arrival. Guided transfer to hotel by private air-conditioned transport. Rest and recuperate. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2
Delhi, Agra (B, L, D)

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi City. Visit the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Positioned along the Yamuna River, this irregular octagon is surrounded by a wall of approximately 2.4km in circumference and built of red sandstone. Pass through the Red Fort, built in the 17th century and entered through two famous main entrances, the Delhi Gate and Lahore Gate. Continue the tour with a visit to Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi’s place of cremation), followed by the India Gate, a 42m stone arch built in the memory of the Indian soldiers that died in World War II.

After Lunch drive to Agra by private air-conditioned transport. On arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight in Agra.

Day 3
Agra (City of Love) (B, L, D)

Morning ride to the enormous Agra Fort. The elegant buildings inside reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The maze of the courtyards, mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the tales of the Mughal Empire. The Moti Masjid and other magnificent buildings reflect the skill of the ancient Indian architects.

Lunch at a famous city restaurant, then venture into the busy market areas to barter on world renowned Silken Kashmiri Rugs. Later that afternoon enjoy a sunset tour of the Taj Mahal, which portrays the true love of Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz. The Taj Mahal is perhaps the most photographed monument in the world, however, no matter how many pictures you have seen or how high your expectations are, the Taj Mahal never disappoints. Besides perfect symmetry in every aspect of its construction, the inlay work of semi precious stones into marble in pieta durra style is absolutely remarkable. Later visit a working marble factory in Agra, witness a live show of skilled craftsmanship by the workers inlaying the interjecting stones exactly as their predecessors did in the time of Mughals. Evening at your leisure. Overnight in Agra.

Day 4
Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Bharatpur (B, L, D)

Enjoy a morning visit to the Indian Spices and Recipe Book Shop, transfer by private air-conditioned transport to Bharatpur. En-route visit the ‘Ghost City’ - Fatehpur Sikri built in red sandstone in honor of Saint Salim Chisti who foretold the birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar. This structure is an example of robust stability combined with originality. It is here people pray at the shrine and tie cotton threads in the belief that their wishes will be fulfilled. Each important edifice here represents its very own story. Notable among them is the Diwane Khas, Punch Mahal, Tomb of Salim Chisti, and Buland Darwaza. Upon arrival at Bharatpur, transfer to the hotel. Evening at your leisure. Puppet Show at the Hotel.

Day 5
Bharatpur, Jaipur (B, L, D)

Take an early morning visit to the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a Bharatpur bird sanctuary with approximately 300 Local and in some cases, migrated species. Sit back and enjoy a ‘cycle rickshaw ride’ through the jungle to watch the various species of birds. Return to the hotel for a late breakfast/early lunch.

Relax after Lunch before transferring to Jaipur. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Evening at your leisure. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 6
Jaipur (Capital of Rajasthan) (B, L, D)

Jaipur, the Rajput City, is a land of forts, palaces and temples, a city that stands out for its unique design and layout and known as the ‘Pink City’. The city, built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, is basically the city of culture, tradition and crafts. Enjoy a morning excursion to the impressive Amber Fort situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount an elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, making your entrance in the time honored fashion. A must–do in Jaipur is shopping, notably for jewelry and the famous lakh bangles. Jaipur is one of the most active jewel markets in the world, famous for its precious and semi precious stones.

Lunch at an ethnic restaurant with its unique Turban Museum displaying over 90 traditional ways of tying a turban. Jaipur is also famous for its textiles. Visit live demonstrations of block printing in cotton/silk at a textile factory where 100’s of men and women perform their skills. It is possible to try, fit or order a new Indian comfortable traditional outfit (for Ladies/Gents), which would be stitched, designed and customized to your size in just a few hours. Evening at your leisure. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 7
Jaipur, Jodhpur (B, L, D)

This day your tour will include the imposing City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Continue on to Hawa Mahal, the Wind Palace, admire from where the palace queen watched the activities of the huge bazaar. After lunch transfer to Jodhpur by private air-conditioned transport. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight at Jodhpur.

Day 8
Jodhpur (Sun City) (B, L, D)

Early morning, visit the ‘real ancient India’, transfer by Jeep to the villages whose houses have their walls and roof made of pure Mud. Enjoy a live demonstration of mud pottery manufactured this way for the last 100 years.

Back to Jodhpur for Lunch at the Rock Garden. Then a sightseeing tour of the marvelous Umaid Bhawan Palace and Museum: A wonderful palace of beige sandstone built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1928 and designed by the President of the British Royal Institute of Architects. Witness the trappings of Raj inspiration and pre-independence royal influence. Evening at your leisure. Dinner by candle light at the Ajit Palace.

Day 9
Jodhpur, Udaipur (B, L, D)

Sightseeing tour of the Mehrangarh Fort, one of Rajasthan's finest forts which looks down protectively over the city, from the hilltop. Visit Jaswant Thada whose red sandstone stairs lead up to the chessboard checked courtyard of the neat white marble cenotaph. Dedicated to Maharaja Jaswant, this memorial was built in 1899. Inside, the reverent ambience is framed with several portraits of Jodhpur royalty. In the afternoon you will transfer to Udaipur, approximately a 5 hour drive. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 10
Udaipur (City of Sunrise) (B, L, D)

Udaipur is the most romantic of all the Rajasthan cities and one of the most exotic places in Asia. Udaipur has rightly been called the ‘Venice of the East’. Take a morning boat ride on the beautiful and solitary lake of magnificence - Lake Pichola. This lake is fringed by hills, embankments, bathing ghats, shrines and palaces along its banks. Later proceed on a sightseeing tour of the City Palace. The magnificent and awe inspiring citadel is, in fact, a complex of several buildings that were added at different times by different rulers spanning nearly three hundred years. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at Taj Lake Place, then later visit Sahelion Ki Bari, the beautiful ‘Garden for Royal Ladies’. Evening at your leisure. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 11
Udaipur, Mumbai (B, L, D)

Relax by Fateh Sagar Lake. This delightful lake, bordered by hills and woodland was constructed by Maharana Jai Singh to the north of Lake Pichola. It is an artificial lake dug in 1678. The beautiful Nehru Island as well as an islet bearing a solar observatory rises from the lake.

Explore Bagore-Ki Haveli, a very congenial old building constructed immediately on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. Built by Amir Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of Mewar in the eighteenth century. The palace has over a hundred rooms and some very interesting exhibits of costumes and modern art. The rest of the day is free. In the evening take a flight to Mumbai. Overnight stay in Mumbai.

Day 12
Mumbai (B, L, D)

Take a sightseeing tour of Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai’s open air laundry), the Gandhi Museum , Jain Temple, Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and drive past the Mohd Hazi Ali Mosque, located in the middle of the sea. Lunch at the Maharastrian City Restaurant. Overnight in Mumbai.

Day 13
Mumbai (B)

Day free to relax and pack. Transfer by air-conditioned private transport to the International Airport for your flight home.

Travel as light as possible. Clothing and laundry are both quite inexpensive.

Women should dress conservatively. Avoid tank tops or short skirts/shorts. The best outfit, especially during the hot summers, is a T-shirt worn with loose cotton trousers. If you are adventurous, wear the Indian 'salwar-kameez', it is very comfortable.

Do not forget to remove your footwear when visiting a place of worship or mausoleum.

Drink only bottled water. Beef is not served in India. Pork is also not easily available. Vegetarian food is easily available, cheap, and of excellent quality.
