Day 1
Miami, Florida
We meet at the assigned Airport Hotel at 5:00 PM for an 'Adventure Briefing' and for a chance to get to know your Adventure Guides and your fellow travelers for the next 30 days. At the assigned time, we travel together to the airport for our evening departure.
NOTE: It is
highly recommended that you fly in a day or two early to avoid any pre-trip delays as well as to visit the tropical city of Miami on your own. If you like, we can help arrange 1 or more optional pre-departure nights at the assigned Airport Hotel (please e-mail or call for pricing details). Various area tours can typically be arranged through the concierge desk at most area hotels.
Day 2
Lima, Peru
We arrive in Lima, the exciting capital city of Peru, in the morning. After settling in we will enjoy an afternoon tour of this wonderful colonial city, including the most important architectural icons, such as the Main Square, Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace.
Days 3 - 7
Machu Picchu, Cuzco & the Scared Valley, Peru
(Days 3 & 6-7: B – Days 4 & 5: B, D)
In the morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to Cuzco, the base for our expedition to the Lost City of Machu Picchu. For the next few days we will explore the town of Cuzco, the Scared Valley of the Incas (renowned for its beautiful landscape, charming Inca towns, and vibrant markets), and of course, Machu Picchu.
The highlight of our time in Peru is a visit to one of the most impressive and awe-inspiring archeological finds in the world: Machu Picchu, recently voted as one of the new
Seven Wonders of the World. Boarding an early morning train, we take an exciting ride up through the beautiful Sacred Valley of Urubamba to the higher reaches of the Andes. As you walk the short distance from the entrance, Machu Picchu will unveil itself in a powerful and dramatic fashion that is sure to send a tingle through your body. It truly is one of life’s unforgettable experiences.
To get the most out of our visit, we will take an in-depth tour of the mysterious Inca ruins. The tour will be led by a knowledgeable local guide who will recount the history of Machu Picchu and will explain what life might have been like for Machu Picchu’s Royal inhabitants some 550 years ago. After the guided tour, you will have plenty of free time to explore the grounds on your own.
Days 8 - 10
London, England
We leave the archeological wonder of Machu Picchu for a brief stay in London, England, a city filled with its own storied history. In London, take a tour of the 1,000 year old halls of Parliament, the grand Westminster Abby Cathedral which has hosted all but two coronations since William the Conqueror in 1,066 AD, the world famous London Museum, the fabled Tower of London, the picturesque Tower Bridge, Princess Diana’s former home of Kensington Palace, and the numerous pubs that dot the city and play an important part in the English culture. In London, no matter what street you walk down, you’re bound to run into a fascinating piece of history or two.
Days 11 - 14
Masai Mara National Park, Kenya
(Days 12, 13 & 14: B, L, D)
With more than a little excitement, we eagerly make our way to Africa for one of life’s great adventures: the ultimate African safari. After spending our first night in a 5-star hotel in Nairobi, we drive through the countryside of Kenya, taking a game drive in route, and straight to the doorstep of the most superb National Park in Africa; Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. After a delicious lunch, we head out on an afternoon safari through Masai Mara National Park.
Bright and early the next morning we are presented with the opportunity to see this amazing park from the sky, via an optional sunrise balloon ride. With an eagle’s eye view you will float quietly over the park and witness the magic of Africa awakening before you. Following a champagne breakfast upon landing, you are transferred back to the hotel where you will meet up with the group and enjoy a full day of unforgettable safaris.
After an awe-inspiring day of tracking Africa’s most impressive animals (including elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebra, wildebeests, water buffalos, rhinos, leopards, warthogs, hyenas, and so many more), we transfer to a luxury camp for an unforgettable night beneath the stars. Nestled deep in Masai Mara National Park, we will experience the absolute thrill of spending the night close to nature. Safe and secure in the comforts of a cozy permanent tent camp (complete with comfortable beds, hot water and proper toilets), we laze the night away, sitting by a roaring campfire, enjoying a gourmet dinner and listening to the distant sounds of our wild neighbors. It is a memory that will truly last a lifetime.
After a wonderful camp breakfast and a final morning game drive, we make our way back to Nairobi. Before our flight departs, we will enjoy a fantastically exotic dinner at the world famous Carnivores Restaurant, known for its authentic atmosphere and deliciously roasted game meats.

Days 15 - 16
Bangkok, Thailand
We arrive in Bangkok for two relaxing days of free time to spend as you like.
Enjoy a traditional Thai massage, shop at one of the many local markets, have inexpensive yet quality clothes made-to-fit at one of the countless Thai tailors, take a city tour in a local tuk tuk, visit the numerous Buddhist temples that grace the city (no shorts or sleeveless shirts allowed), take an adventurous river tour of the city on a traditional long boat, or explore the famous nightlife of Patpong.
The choices are endless in this unique and energetic city. With plenty of activities available to travelers in Bangkok, you'll wish you had more time to explore this fascinating city.
Days 17 - 23
Kathmandu & the Himalayan Mountains, Nepal
In one of the most dramatic and exciting fashions, the next leg of this ‘trip of a lifetime’ takes us to the top of the world... literally!
Full of excitement, we make our way to the vibrant and energetic city of Kathmandu and to the wonders of the mighty Himalayan Mountains. Within moments of arriving, the exotic Shangri-La ambiance of Kathmandu will begin to set in. With an Indiana Jones-like feeling, our first evening is free to wander the bustling, narrow-street tourist neighborhood of Thamel, a rare and exciting experience unto itself. Sample one of the numerous local restaurants, sit at an outdoor cafe and listen to a fantastic band, or browse through the abundant shops that line the narrow streets and supply inexpensive brand name mountain gear to the thousands of trekkers who pass through Kathmandu each year on their way to various destinations throughout the Himalayas.
Bright and early, before the late morning clouds begin to form, we transfer to the airport for an up-close and personal experience with the Mother of All Mountains; Mt. Everest. Climbing from the foothills of Kathmandu and up into the thinning air of the Himalaya, we pass over rice terraces that cling precariously to the extraordinarily steep hillsides and solitary villages that are nestled deep in the remote valleys. Finally, not long after takeoff, we reach the jagged snow capped peaks and begin our aerial tour of Mt. Everest and her majestic neighbors. After returning to Kathmandu, you can take an afternoon tour of this historic city, set out to explore the ancient streets of Thamel on foot, or simply relax in the comfortable gardens of the hotel.
Situated in the foothills of the Himalaya, on the shores of a picturesque mountain lake, we spend the next 4 days in the pleasant village of Pokhara. With breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (also known as Fishtail) mountains, Pokhara is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy one of the many optional adventures, and to experience the culture and friendly people of Nepal. While in Pokhara we will also take a couple of short treks to view the spectacularly beautiful mountain sunrises and sunsets. In all, Nepal is an adventure that will always hold a special place in your memory.

Days 24 - 27
Beaches of Southern Thailand
Leaving the wonders of the mighty Himalaya, we travel down to the beautiful beaches of southern Thailand, a spectacular treat unto itself. Famous throughout the world for its sugar soft beaches, stunning landscapes, crystal clear emerald green waters, and always smiling locals, the wonders of Thailand will leave you captivated in her beauty and with a longing to return for years to come.
With a few unscheduled days ahead of us, this is the perfect opportunity to get to know Thailand in your own way. Wander the delightful town, explore the spectacular coastline in a traditional longboat, enjoy a traditional Thai massage, sample the excellent local and international restaurants, participate in the colorful nightlife, venture out on a world-class SCUBA or snorkeling trip, or simply relax and enjoy the easy-going beach life. With the variety of options available to us, the most difficult decision you will have to make is whether to kick your feet up for a few days or keep them on ground and seek out new adventures. The good news is that there are no wrong answers to this welcome dilemma.
Days 28 - 29
Shanghai, China
(Day 29: B, L, D)
Shanghai, China's largest city (home to 16 million people) is also China’s principal port on a deep estuary of the Yangtze River. Often regarded as "the Paris of the East," Shanghai has retained the flavor of its past European influences. Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will take a tour of the Bund and the bustling Nanjing Road.
The following day we visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden. After lunch, we take a cruise tour on the Huangpu River. In the evening, a farewell dinner is served at the Central Hotel, whose restaurant Wang Bao He, has a history of around 260 years and is the best place to experience Shanghai Cuisine. The memorable dinner will be followed by the Portman Acrobatic Show at the Shanghai Centre Theatre.
Day 30
Over the Pacific (Shanghai to Miami)
(Day 30: B)
Full of new dreams, new friendships, incredible experiences, and a multitude of memories, we reflectively cross the Pacific Ocean and the continental United States in route to Miami.
We bid fond farewells to our new friends and excitedly share our amazing adventures with our family and friends. And while we know that our memories will surely live with us for years to come, through nostalgic dreams and reminiscent stories, we also know that we are explorers at heart. We are that rare breed of over curious and ever inquisitive. It's simply who we are. So inevitably, as all great explorers do, we will once again begin the inescapable and ever-exciting process of trying to find our next great adventure.
