Day 3:
Table Mountain Hike. (B)

Today, join your Trip Leader on a hike up the world famous Table Mountain (one of the New 7 Natural Wonders of the World). Table Mountain, the iconic symbol of South Africa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the only natural site on the planet to have a constellation of stars named after it - Mensa, meaning "the table", is a flat-topped mountain that dominates the city landscape of Cape Town and cradles the city between the mountain's cliff side and the nearby ocean.

It's a challenging, but very rewarding hike up to the top (3,563 feet - 1,086m) up a well maintained, but constant step trail. But once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with breathtaking and unsurpassed views of the Atlantic Ocean, Robbin's Island, the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, Lion's Head Mountain, and south over the Cape Peninsula and the majestic Twelve Apostles.

Starting early in the morning, we'll take the popular Platteklip Gorge Trail up to the top. Upon reaching the top, we'll have some free time to explore, before taking the Cable Car back down.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
* This trek will be entirely subject to the weather conditions and the operating status of the Cable Car, which they will close in the morning if unfavorable weather is predicted.

* This is a medium to advanced hike on a mountain with weather than can change very quickly. It is imperative that you are in good physical condition and it is required that you have with you the proper footwear, a day backpack, proper clothing (with extra backup layers), snacks, headlight (or flashlight), and ample amounts of water (at least 2 liters) in order to hike this.

* For those who want to skip the hike, but still want to experience the awesome views, you can choose to take the Cable Car up and down, thus avoiding the hiking (subject to weather ).

Day 4:

Today we head out to the Stellenbosch Wine Region, located just east of Cape Town. Not only is the Stellenbosch region world famous for their amazing wines, but it is also one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world.

We will head straight to one of the most famous wine estates where we will be staying for the next two nights. Located just a few miles from the quaint downtown of Stellenbosch, this peaceful and quiet estate is surrounded by a centuries old working vineyard and offers commanding views of not only the vineyard, but also olive groves and the majestic Helderberg Mountains in the distance.

After arriving at the estate, you'll have time to get settled, have lunch, relax and explore a bit of the estate. Later in the afternoon, we will then participate in a wine tasting demonstration with one of the estate's experts. The night is ours to take in the amazing southern sky, including stars and constellations that can't be seen from the Northern Hemisphere, like the Southern Cross.

    Day 7:
Leisure day in Stellenbosch. Optional Wine Region Tour. (B)

What's your pleasure? A wander through the neighboring winery, a relaxing day by the pool, a game of "Petanque" (an ancient lawn game played at many French wineries), a visit to the quaint town of Stellenbosch or even a round of golf at a nearby course (can be arranged through the hotel desk)?

For the wine lovers, we definitely recommend the optional wine tasting trip to several excellent wineries in the Stellenbosch Wine Region (available on check out... minimum 2 people, must be purchased before departure, subject to availability and final once purchased).
